Thursday officially begins a new season and I feel like so many things have changed over the summer. I'm excited for what this fall and holiday season will bring and for the plans for our lives that Joe & I are making everyday. But for now, here's a little life update!
Little by little, we're working on making our house a home. We've been busy hanging things in the bedroom, cleaning window, and putting up new window treatments. It's amazing how cleaning a window and putting up a new curtain can really make the smallest and nicest change!
I'm hoping to finish up a few more things before it gets too cold outside. I would really like to get the front door painted, get my bookshelf painted, and clean up the wild plants around the house. It would be nice to do some landscaping next Spring and really spruce up the outside of the house!
Lately, I've been doing some side projects and web design. I am absolutely loving it! This is truly where my heart and passion lie and I feel so good and happy while working.
I would like to get more serious about my freelancing and figure out how to market myself. I'm kinda stuck in the learning how get clients and do this as a serious side hustle. I'm ready to get out of this stage and start doing, but I know it takes time. Once I get there, though, I know it'll be great!
This summer, Joe and I went on so many fun adventures! From our Honeymoon to Mexico (which I'll post pictures at some point), to hanging out in the Shawnee with my folks, exploring Chicago, and seeing one of my favorite bands play in Nashville; adventures with Joe are simply the best. We still have two more weddings, and holiday travels in our future, but I am seriously looking forward to the next year and what adventures it'll bring!
I turned another year older (and so did Joe!)
Joe and I both turn 28 (woah!) this summer and holy cow. I know it'll never happen but I always think that maybe I'll wake up and I'll suddenly feel a year older, but I think at this age, I just can feel myself not being as young as I was at 22. It's almost 10:30 now and I already feel like I'm up past my bedtime.
Enjoying Newlywed life
I am enjoying this period of life where Joe and I are just enjoying the company of each other and just being married. I recently saw a bunch of extended family and when they ask how it feels to be married, I honestly reply, "same except I have better health insurance." And it does feel the same, but there's just a whole new light to our relationship. I see Joe a little differently now. He's my partner and best friend. We're in this together and we're in it to win it. I have no idea what that means, but the best part is I have Joe by my side to help me figure it out.
So that's life right now. Many exciting things on the horizon and many exciting things to come.
